Ezer (previously known as Ezer Leyoldos *) was set up in 1981 by Mrs Malke Sternlicht and a group of women in the local Jewish community. They were determined to give families the support they needed, particularly after the birth of a baby, initially offering practical support, including freshly cooked meals, domestic cleaning help and child care arrangements. Although this support at those vulnerable times had enormous preventative benefits, additional and more complex issues were identified, such as post-natal depression, neglect, family breakdown, disability and isolation. This led Ezer to expand services to meet those needs, including supporting vulnerable families in order to prevent more complex and extensive problems from developing.
Ezer aims to promote stability and security among families in need, giving children a better future. We aim to relieve difficulties, prevent problems from developing and restore stability to troubled families.
